Presentation of the book dedicated to the 100thanniversary of the People’s Writer Ilyas Efendiyev.
On 10 October, 2014 the presentation of the book, dedicated to the 100thanniversary of the People’s Writer, Ilyas Efendiyev, took place in the Union of Theatre Workers.
This year marks the 100thanniversary of the birth of an outstanding representative of Azerbaijani literature, People’s Writer, playwright, Ilyas Efendiyev.
On this occasion, the Union of Theatre Workers has published a new book from the series “Pages of Life”. The book was published by the Science and Education Publishing House. In recent years, the Union of Theatre Workers published books from this series on the occasion of the 100thanniversary of prominent figures such as Shamsi Badalbeyli, MaharramHashimov and People’s Artist of the USSR, Hokuma Gurbanova.
The book was presented in three languages - Azerbaijani, Russian and English. The author of the book is Doctor of Arts, professor,Maryam Alizade.
The chairman of the Union of Theatre Workers of Azerbaijan, Professor, Azer Pasha Nematov, wrote the preface to the book. In addition to the author’s text, the book contains the heartfelt words of national leader Heydar Aliyev, prominent literary critics and writers, photographs of I. Efendiyev and performances staged from his works. On the cover is used a picture written by Honoured Artist, Ismayil Mammadov.
For the first time this book was presented at a solemn event in Paris, on the occasion of the 100thanniversary of Ilyas Efendiyev at UNESCO, with the participation of prominent Azerbaijani artists.
The opening ceremony of the book dedicated to Ilyas Efendiyev was opened by the People’s Artist, Professor, Azer Pasha Nematov, after taking a short tour of the life and work of the writer, and gave the floor to the People’s Artist, State Prize laureate, Haji Ismayilov. Haji Ismayilov spoke about his memories of Ilyas Efendiyev and gave the floor to the director, People’s Artist, Agakishi Kazimov.
The next speakers, People’s artists - MerahimFarzalibeyov and Maleyka Asadova recalled Ilyas Efendiyev with the most pleasant words.
Actresses - ZarnigarAgakishiyeva and Kubrabeyim Aliyeva told their memories of Ilyas Efendiyev.
At the end of the event, the author, Doctor of Arts, Professor,Maryam Alizade acquainted those present with the process of writing and collecting materials, spoke about the modern drama Ilyas Efendiyev and expressed deep gratitude to the Union of Theatre Workers and its chairman Azer Pasha Nematov.
At the end of the event, the Chairman of the Union of Theatre Workers, Azer Pasha Nematov, spoke on the dramaturgy of Ilyas Efendiyev and the play “Tutsan” staged by him.
Thus, the presentation of the book “Pages of Life”, dedicated to the 100thanniversary of the outstanding playwright Ilyas Efendiyev, was completed. Event participants were presented with copies of the book.
