Scientific-practical conference on the theme “Jahangir (Conqueror) of performing arts in the context of research”.
On 21 December, 2015, there was held a scientific-practical conference on the theme “Jahangir (Conqueror) of performing arts in the context of research” in the Union of Theatre Workers of Azerbaijan, dedicated to the 150thanniversary of the birth of the founder of Azerbaijan realistic actor school Jahangir Zeynalov.
The conference, organized by the University of Culture and Arts, was attended by prominent intellectuals, media representatives and members of the actor’s family.
The event was opened by the Chairman of the Union of Theatre Workers of Azerbaijan, People’s Artist of Azerbaijan, Professor - Azer Pasha Nematov, and welcomed the participants of the conference, and gave the floor to the leader of the event, Honoured Figure of Arts, Professor - Maryam Alizade. Maryam Alizade told about the life and work of Jahangir Zeynalov, made a presentation “Jahangir Zeynalov’s place in performing arts of Azerbaijan” and gave the floor to other researchers.
Speakers at the conference - Doctor of Arts, professor - Ilham Rahimli with the report “History of Azerbaijan Theatre and Jahangir Zeynalov”, Doctor of Arts, professor - Israfil Israfilov with the report “Jahangir Zeynalov: Personality and Time”, Ph.D. in Arts, professor - Aydin Talibzade with the report “Theatre of Keble Jahangir”, Ph.D. in Arts, professor - Rafig Sadikhov with a report “Jahangir Zeynalov in the press of his period”, Ph.D. in Arts -Vidadi Gafarov with a lecture “Jahangir (Conqueror) of Azerbaijan Theatre” told about the rich creative way of Jahangir Zeynalov. The grandson of the artist, Honoured Figure of Arts Jahangir Novruzov spoke about the outstanding artist and touched on unknown moments of his life.
Honoured Figure of Arts, Doctor of Arts, professor - Maryam Alizade noted that the work of Jahangir Zeynalov will be studied in detail in the future, and expressed deep gratitude to the participants.
