Agasadyg Geraybeyli - 120.

On 8 November, 2017, with the organization of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Azerbaijan Republic, the Union of Theatre Workers and the Academic National Drama Theatre, a jubilee evening was held dedicated to the 120thanniversary of the famous theatre and cinema actor, People’s Artist Agasadyg Geraybeyli.

The representatives of the community and family members who attended the event at the Academic National Drama Theatre, got acquainted with the photo exhibition telling about the life and work of the artist.

Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Azerbaijan Republic, Adalat Veliyev, made a speech on the occasion of the 120thanniversary of the artist and spoke about the relevant Order of the Head of State, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and gave extensive information about the works of Agasadyg Geraybeyli. He noted that this master worked from 1933 and until the end of his life in the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theatre and created unforgettable characters in the performances “Inspector”, “Engaged girl”, “Aligulu Marries”, “The Dead People”, “Aydın”, “People without a Motherland”," The Bride of Fire”, “Farhad and Shirin”, “Gadfly” and other works, played the role of Sardarov in the film “Under the Hot Sun ", Ibn Khalid in “Leyli and Mejnun”, Uncle in “Life is Beautiful, brother”, Bey in the “Mailbox”, the Gendarme in “The stars do not extinguish”, Rustam in “The guys from our street” and others.

At the end of the event, the grandson of the actor - the rector of Azerbaijan State Medical University, Professor Geray Geraybeyli, on behalf of the whole family, thanked President Ilham Aliyev for his respect for the memory of his father and thanked everyone who contributed to the organization of the jubilee.

At the evening, the actors from the Academic National Drama Theatre performed the scene, reflecting the master first appearance on stage, presented a fragment from the “The Inspector” performance, and also showed footage from the films in which he played.
