Presentation of the book “Pages of Life” dedicated to the 100thanniversary of the famous choreographer, People’s Artist of the USSR, Gemer Almaszade.
On 30 April, 2015, the Union of Theatre Workers of Azerbaijan presented the book “Pages of Life” dedicated to the 100thanniversary of the first ballet actress of Azerbaijan, one of the founders of the national ballet school, People’s Artist of the USSR, State Prize Laureate, Gemer Hajiaga gyzy Almaszade.
The book provides a brief overview of the most important aspects of an outstanding artist’s creative career, as well as moments of life and work in photographs and articles devoted to her achievements in different years.
Opening the event, the chairman of the Union of Theatre Workers, Azer Pasha Nematov, shared his memories of the outstanding artist and gave the floor to People’s Artist, Haji Ismayilov.
Haji Ismailov spoke briefly about the life and work of Gemer Almaszade.
Speaking at the event, USSR People’s Artist - Farhad Badalbeyli, People’s Artist - Agakishi Kazimov, editor of the book, Honoured Arts Worker, professor - Zemfira Gafarova, Honoured journalist - Galina Mikeladze, students of Gemer Almaszadeh - Rafiga Akhundova, Yulana Alikishizade, Rima Mammadova shared their warm memories of the actress.
The author of the book, Aida Gafarova, thanked those who contributed to the publishing the book, and those who took part in the presentation.
At the end of the event, member of the Gemer Almaszade’s family, teacher of the Baku Choreography Academy, Maira Almaszade, was awarded the “Master” medal of the Union of Theatre Workers in connection with the anniversary date.
At the end of the event, the participants of the event were presented the book “Pages of Life”.
