The “Medea vs. Euripides” performance
On 5 April, 2019, in the framework of the Memorandum on the Development of Cultural Relations, signed by Union of Theatre Workers of Azerbaijan and the Georgian Theatre Society, the performance “Medea vs. Euripides” of the Meskhetian State Drama Theatre of Georgia was presented on the stage of the Academic National Drama Theatre. The artistic director of the theatre is Lia Suluashvili.
The play “Medea vs. Euripides” of Janri Kashia, staged by director Georgy Shalutashvili, music composed by Alexey Turiaishvili, production designer is Lela Peradze, costume designer is Nana Koranashvili, choreographer is TamtaTavdishvili. Duration of performance - 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Events in the play take place in the theatre of a small town. Here it is staged the play of Euripides “Medea”. The day of the premiere is known, differences between the leading woman and the director arise, and this impedes creative work.
The performance, which became a regular event in the development of cultural relations between Georgia and Azerbaijan, was greeted by theatre experts and spectators with great interest.
