Meeting with the military.
On 25 February, 2017, a meeting was held with officers and military personnel of a military unit located in Turkan, with the participation of representatives of the Union of Theatre Workers and the National Academic Drama Theatre.
The event was attended by People’s Artist Azer Pasha Nematov, Deputy Chairman, People’s Artist, State Prize winner Haji Ismayilov, the Union members, leading artists of the Azerbaijan State Academic National Drama Theatre - People’s Artist Maleyka Asadova, Honoured Artist Sabir Mammadov and others.
At the event, initiated by the anthem of Azerbaijan, there was shown a video of the Union of Theatre Workers about the Khojaly genocide.
The Deputy Chairman of the Union of Theatre Workers, Haji Ismayilov, briefly recounted the anniversary of the Khojaly tragedy, read a poem dedicated to the servicemen. Then the word was given to Maleyka Asadova. Maleyka Asadova, after reading poems on a patriotic theme, wished the servicemen further success in their service.
After the speech, Honoured Artist Sabir Mammadov, who read poems written by one of the servicemen, was greeted with interest.
Then the actors Kerem Hadizade, Bahruz Vagifoglu and Masuma Babayeva showed the play “Old Men-Thieves” by Elchin Huseynbeyli, prepared by director Nofel Veliyev, staged in the Zafar Theatre Studio of the Union of Theatre Workers. The performance was met with applause from the military.
At the end of the meeting, the representative of the military unit thanked the guests on behalf of the border troops. The event ended with a patriotic poem performed by Haji Ismayilov.
After the event, participants had lunch with military personnel.
